Pakistan captain Babar Azam has returned home after his vacation in London, which he took following Pakistan’s elimination from the T20 World Cup 2024.
With Babar at the helm, Pakistan did not progress to the Super 8 stage of the tournament. In the T20 World Cup, they faced a surprising Super Over loss to hosts, the United States, followed by a defeat against arch-rivals India, which dashed their hopes of qualification.
Babar Azam, along with fellow players Mohammad Amir, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan, was reported to have spent some time in London.
The Pakistan skipper landed at Lahore airport on Monday morning with high security.
The next assignment for the Pakistan cricket team is a Test series against Bangladesh in August. It will be interesting to see how the Pakistan Cricket Board addresses the recent downturn in the team’s performance.
