A dedicated US cricket fan travelled all the way from United States to Lucknow, India, with high hopes of witnessing Virat Kohli’s spectacular performance in the World Cup match against England, only for Kohli to be dismissed for a duck.
Virat Kohli found himself at the crease earlier than expected due to the early dismissal of Shubman Gill, who departed after scoring only nine runs. On the challenging two-paced pitch in Lucknow, Kohli faced a tough time, registering eight dot balls before falling to David Willey’s delivery.
Notably, this marks the first time that Virat Kohli has registered a duck in the history of ODI World Cups. Aside from this match, Kohli has been in exceptional form throughout the tournament, amassing 354 runs in six matches, including four half-centuries and a century.
