The crowd at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai were left stunned as MS Dhoni hammered Hardik Pandya for three back-to-back sixes during the IPL 2024 match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians on Sunday, April 14.
Entering the fray with just four balls left in the CSK innings, Dhoni blazed his way to 20 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 500. Hardik was left powerless against Dhoni’s explosive batting onslaught.
The first ball from Hardik to Dhoni was a slower delivery, but Dhoni was quick to judge the length, launching it for a towering six-over long-off. Unfazed, Hardik continued with a similar length delivery, yet Dhoni effortlessly deposited it over wide long-on, notching his second six in as many deliveries.
The next ball from Hardik was the most disappointing of the bunch, ending up as a low full toss directed at the pads. Dhoni took full advantage, flicking it with ease over deep square leg for his third six of the match.

Dhoni had intentions of dispatching the final ball of the over for a maximum, but a slight mishit resulted in him settling for a double, propelling CSK’s total past the 200-mark courtesy of the late onslaught.
